Great contract opportunity for a Video Server Admin Professional in the Alpharetta, GA area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the below:

SUMMARY

Team Member of the Centralized Video Services Operations Group which provides 24x7 Production Services Support as well as deployment, integration and enabling of new services for anything related to the receiving, processing and delivering of Central Video services over their National Backbone Network. This position will be focused on their next generation of IP Video Services including STB Applications, TV Caller ID, Personalized Recommendations, Tablet Video applications, Content Delivery Networks and any other forms of Centralized Video Application Delivery. Including many new up and coming exciting video application service offerings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide back office Infrastructure support for all Services at the Drive Technology Center and other Video services locations.
  • Deploy, integrate, configure and enable infrastructure and applications for next generation Video application Services.
  • Communication of troubleshooting & repair information to the NOC to ensure the 24x7 uninterrupted operation of Video application services.
  • Contribute to creation and maintaining of Operational documentation including diagrams, reports, procedures, and other operational support reference material.
  • Provide input to the future network design and architecture of the video application back offices and networks. Become an integral part in the Development and Growth of their next generation video application services.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum

  • 5 to 10 years of industry experience in Operations or Engineering with a Linux and Back office focus.
  • 5 to 10 years of industry experience in an Arris DAC or Cisco DNCS environment.
  • Familiarity with Linux system administration and functions as related to various video application delivery models.
  • Understanding of OCAP standards and DSG delivery mechanisms.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux and operating environments, managing large number of remote systems using command-line tools, and experience with SNMP, syslog, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong experience designing/troubleshooting video application technology.
  • In depth understanding of event monitoring (alerting, diagnostics, solutions).
  • Understanding of technology standards and specifications related to nationally deployed video application back offices. Data transportation via HTTP, network path and network interfaces configurations and network protocols.
  • Experience with configuring and installing hardware, ranging from servers to network equipment.
  • Must be able to work through technical resolution of problems in a cross functional 24x7 environment.


  • Preferred

  • Prefer BS in MIS, CIS, EE or Associates degree in related discipline; 5-8 years of experience in Technology or Telecommunications Industry. MS/MA and 3-5 years of experience in related field. Certification required in areas.
  • Working knowledge of communication networking, communications systems testing and development, network manager applications, performance analysis, performance evaluation, user interface programming is desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of LAN administration, Ethernet hubs, switches, and cabling. Working knowledge of routing protocols in a service provider environment.
  • 5 to 10 years of industry experience in Operations or Engineering with a Linux and Back office focus.
  • 5 to 10 years of industry experience in an Arris DAC or Cisco DNCS environment.
