The Department of Music at The College of Saint Rose is seeking qualified applicants for a temporary full-time faculty position, Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Industry for the 2013/2014 school year. The Department of Music at The College of Saint Rose is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. The Music Industry Program is a unique bachelor’s degree program with an emphasis on commercial music and entrepreneurship. Courses specific to the program are equally distributed between songwriting and composing, audio recording and music production, and music business. Candidates must have experience in some of the above areas. Based on candidate’s experience, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching courses in Recording Engineering, Record Production, Music Business, Music Technology, Music Publishing, Music Theory, and Songwriting. The position may also include teaching applied music lessons.
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Music or a closely related field and professional experience in the areas of record production, composition or songwriting, electronic music, performance, music theory, or music business.
Appreciation and commitment to diverse musical cultures and versatility to create, arrange and direct a variety of music genres, including popular music is also required.
