Posting Information:
Western Carolina University seeks a highly motivated, experienced videographer/video editor who will be responsible for planning, shooting, editing and producing high-quality video projects for the Office of Communication and Public Relations. Position will produce videos in support of the university's communication, promotions and marketing efforts, including content for the university's various online communication products; for broadcast news and advertising; and for distribution via DVD or other means. Special instructions to applicants: Samples of work must be provided.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements

Graduation from high school and two years of visual/graphic arts experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preference will be given to those applicants with the following training and experience:

Software Knowledge: -Final Cut Studio ( required ) -Adobe Creative Suite ( required ) -3D modeling is a plus. Equipment Knowledge: - SONY HVR-Z1U - Panasonic GH3 - Shoulder mount broadcast camera operation knowledge is a plus Production Knowledge: - Understanding of codecs, compression, file formats, etc. for broadcast standards and web optimization. - Experience with live-production ( ex: setting up CNN, NPR, UNC-TV, local TV and radio interviews ) - Cinematography techniques such as lighting, lens choice, frame rates, color correction, grading, etc. - Proper microphone operation, audio formatting and processing. - Typography and design skills. - Experience with in-camera and post-production special effects. - Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs

Salary Range (displays in advertisement)

Market Range: $33,452 - $44,491**Expected Hiring Range: $33,452-$40,000

Competency Level: (SPA Banded positions only)
