Sr. Designer. Serve as project manager, working with all elements of the projects (not just design) to bring in projects on time, under budget and according to clients' specifications. Maintain strong Develop and implement creative communication strategies through a range of disciplines including print, electronic and interactive media. Create fresh, exciting publications that support the university's goals and are consistent with the university's visual identity. Take lead roll with designers by collaboration with on-going projects. Serve as project manager, as assigned, working with all elements of the projects (not just design) to bring in projects on time, under budget and according to clients' specifications. Maintain strong working relationship with university clients, as assigned, in order to promote an exchange of information necessary for high quality results. Assist Creative Services Director in maintaining and implementing department organization and procedures and implement in a timely manner those improvements that are approved. this position will work on campus in Cullowhee, NC
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities/Competencies:
High-level Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (CS6) necessary;
Excellent communication, organization, time management and analytical/problem solving skills are required, along with a high degree of flexibility; the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment with exceptional attention to detail.
Self starter and accustomed to leading projects with little supervision.
Experience in preparing files for digital and offset printing.
Minimum Training & Experience Requirements
Graduation from high school and two years of visual/graphic arts experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preference will be given to those applicants with the following training and experience:
Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design or four years in the Graphic design field. Experience in Higher Education a plus
