ALCO’s Visual Merchandiser is responsible for creating cohesive, visually appealing design and flow elements that promote the sale of products and services in all of ALCO’s retail locations.

  • Designs visual programs and displays for point-of-sale, shelf merchandising, and storewide promotion that align with core branding initiatives
  • Ensures cohesive product flow and cross-platform promotional messaging across the store
  • Provides leadership in the design and development of standards for in-store signing, product packaging, display fixtures and store layouts
  • Works collaboratively with Merchandising and Assortment Planning to determine optimal seasonal space allocation, as well as drive aisle and endcap product placement
  • Drives sales through the knowledge and strategic implementation of consumer behavioral trends
  • Oversees the production of in-store promotional messaging programs
  • Develops exterior signing solutions that account for each store’s unique placement opportunities and challenges
  • Manages relationships with third-party contractors for print, production, fixturing, and installation
  • Manages multiple projects from concept through completion including seasonal promotion, ad signing, and store branding
  • Maintains familiarity with important brands and initiatives, and provides insight into successful in-store merchandising strategies from other retailers
  • Excellent organizational and strategic thinking skills
  • Project management skills, including the ability to work within a specified budget
  • 5-10 years retail marketing experience
  • Strong aptitude for visualizing and utilizing space creatively and effectively
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and consumer behavior
  • Understanding of new technologies and design trends and their application to marketing principles
  • Ability to work individually and to execute self-driven projects
  • Demonstrated ability to solve spatial problems and suggest appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work under stress to meet project deadlines and deliver minute attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to and understanding of corporate branding is crucial.
  • Ability to translate accurately from English to Spanish is a plus.
