This position will assist the Head Volleyball Coach with the day to day operations of the volleyball program beginning Aug 1st, 2013 and ending May 1st, 2014
REPORT TO: Head Volleyball Coach
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the head volleyball coach in the day to day operations of the volleyball program.
Assist in the recruitment and placement of student athletes.
Assist in the academic monitoring and success of student athletes.
Coach players individually or in groups, demonstrating techniques of volleyball.
Assistant coach during fall camp (month of August) with three practices daily.
Ability to travel with team to away games, regional, and national tournaments.
Must obtain a proper license in order to transport student athletes to and from competition.
Assist in running of the Laker Labor day volleyball tournament.
Assist with daily practices during the season including organization and implantation of practice plans.
Assist head coach in game preparation.
Responsible for gym setup for home volleyball events.
Determine strategy during game, independently or in conference with the head coach.
Responsible for compliance with NJCAA rules and regulations for the volleyball program.
Other duties as assigned.

Constants (67 – 100%) reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and viewing various types of close visual work. Frequent (34 – 66%) stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling and carrying. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds of force frequently. Must complete Blood borne Pathogens Training. Will require flexible hours including weekends and evenings. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance. May be required to travel utilizing personal vehicle.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check.

Bachelor’s Degree required.
College volleyball and/or coaching experience preferred.
