Role: Responsible for coordinating and supervising all patient care volunteer activities. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT) and liaison between staff, community, and volunteers. Qualifications:

BA/BS required, BSW preferred.

Two-three years experience in a health care setting with one year supervisory experience required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking.

Well developed interpersonal skills: ability to be tactful and understanding.

Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Ability to work unsupervised exercising a high degree of discretion and independent judgment.

Valid Florida driver’s license and auto insurance as per Company policy. Job Responsibilities: Volunteer Services

Meet and/or exceed standards of practice of the Volunteer Services Department.

Recruit volunteers through community networking activities and marketing efforts.

Screen potential volunteers through intake calls and interviews, and in training.

Train, assign, supervise and evaluate patient/family care volunteers as well as volunteers for events, Speakers Bureau, administrative support and various other roles as needed.

Assist in the continuous improvement of the volunteer training program.

Facilitate monthly patient/family care volunteer support groups and in-services.

Assist with community presentations about the Company and Volunteer programs, through the Speakers Bureau and special events.

Participate in the development and implementation of programs which enhance the morale and effectiveness of volunteers, including the Volunteer Advisory Committee, volunteer newsletter, volunteer in-services, support programs and annual volunteer recognition.

Participate in volunteer-related special events, committees and task force groups.*

Maintain records of volunteers, ensuring that all file requirements have been met and are current. IDT

Serve as a liaison between team members and volunteers on the IDT.

Promote the use of volunteer services on the IDT, educating team members about the roles of volunteers.

Review patient/family care volunteer notes, reporting pertinent information at IDT meetings.

Assist as needed with information and referral calls.

Maintain care plan development.

Administer supportive care caseload. Other Duties

Perform other duties as assigned by the Volunteer Services Manager, including the development of new programs, special projects and community activities of the department.*
