We also recognize the family unit, and support is offered to family caregivers that includes counseling and education. A registered nurse is always on call, 24 hours, to answer questions and to provide assistance and support when needed. We will provide care to every eligible patient in our service area, regardless of medical conditions, lifestyle, religious, cultural or ethnic background. We believe all patients who are eligible for hospice should receive hospice. After all this is the time When Life Matters Most....

DUTIES

Volunteer Coordinator The Volunteer Coordinator provides supervision of the volunteers, and works as a team with other Volunteer Coordinators to fulfill the vision of the volunteer program that is created by this team. In addition, the Volunteer Coordinator provides assistance in the hospice's ancillary and office activities as well as in direct patient care services, and/or help patients and families with household chores, shopping, transportation, and companionship. Supervises the volunteer staff and interfaces with all levels of management regarding volunteer activities.Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of the volunteers' performance. Participate in the training and orientation of volunteers. Assumes the responsibilities of a volunteer when working in that capacity.** Attends and successfully completes the Agency's volunteer orientation.** Understands hospice goals, services and philosphy; confidentiality and protection of the patient's and family's rights;family dynamics, coping mechanisms and psychological issues surrounding terminal illness, death and bereavement.*o L Learns procedures to be followed in an emergenyc or following the death of the patient . Communicates appropriately with patient, family and agency staff.. Partiicpate in interdisciplinary group meetings. QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age with preferable one year or more of volunteer coordinating experience in hospice. Must be high school graduate or equivalent; Bachelor Degree preferred in related field or equivalent. Must be able to read, write and comprehend English; Must have basic computer skills; ability to follow written and verbal directions; Must have good time management and organizational skills; Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. .
