Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of volunteers ensuring ample staff to meet program needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same. Attends, provides suggestions and assists with special events to support Coordinate programs. Develops goals and objectives for volunteer programming. Supervises and assigns duties to volunteers and staff members for all special events in planning stage and at actual event; cultivates relationships to ensure continued support.
Valid Driver's License Required
Two years experience recruiting people to perform work on a volunteer basis.
Knowledge of: community agencies, organizations, and corporations within the Area Coordinate area; and effective implementation of recruitment strategies. Skill in marketing to a professional volunteer audience. Ability to: follow instructions and work with limited supervision; prepare accurate and complete records and reports; build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers; lead, motivate, and evaluate the work of volunteers; project a professional and positive image of The Salvation Army; work with others to motivate them to give of their time and skills to The Salvation Army. Experience performing management, outreach, recruitment, and public speaking.
Two year degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
$32,000 - $33,000 annually
