Essential Functions:
The purpose of this position is to perform various assignments in the capacity of a volunteer for Collier County Parks and Recreation. Each particular assignment will require different skill sets, hours and locations. Some of the following duties may be assigned depending on volunteer assignment. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Greets visitors and/or callers; provides information; directs visitor/caller to appropriate staff member or department. Assists with various office functions. Files/ prepares department records, reports and forms. Copies and distributes documents as appropriate. Inputs data. (May require knowledge of Microsoft office programs). Operates a personal computer, telephone, radio, copier and other general office equipment as necessary. Cleans and maintains park facilities and grounds. Picks up trash, landscaping, help with preserve and beach cleanups, assist park rangers. Coach youth sports teams; assists with special projects and special events throughout Collier County.
Minimum Qualifications:
Fingerprinting and/or other background checks may be required based on assignment. Prior to operating a County vehicle, a volunteer must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and undergo a DMV check. Other qualifications/certifications may be required depending on assignment. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
