SUMMARY: Directs warehousing activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties beyond this representative listing may be assigned to the essential job duties and responsibilities of this position based on Company needs.

Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current, keeping all floor, shelving and racks clean and organized. Keep all overstock put away weekly.

Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Prepare work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.

Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.

Direct salvage of damaged or used material.

Participate in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.

Count, weigh or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records.

Determine methods of shipment using most direct and economical routes.

Package and crate items for shipment.

Stock parts in bins.

Maintain inventory of shipping materials.

Assist in monthly cycle counts.

Assist in pre-inventory preparation.

Assist in annual inventory.

Ability to multi-task under pressure.

Must be a team player.

Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Maintain professional appearance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: One Year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Valid driver’s license required. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Other Skills and Abilities: Well-grounded knowledge of shipping and mailing rates, routes and packaging requirements. Knowledge of inventory system at dealerships and the use of computers. Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat or cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
