Emerald Alaska, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Technician in our Fairbanks facility!!

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Technician

LOCATION: Fairbanks

REPORTS TO: Fairbanks Area Manager

SALARY RANGE: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour


Perform general, routine warehouse duties daily to include loading and offloading of inbound and

outbound trucks, shipping items to Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay locations, receipt of items into the

Fairbanks warehouse and conducting inventories. The Warehouse Technician provides generalized

support for all departments and activities within the warehouse and facility


 Area manager for day to day assignments

 Environmental Technicians when filling stock requisition orders for jobs and receiving/cross

loading incoming waste

 Anchorage warehouse staff for ordering supplies and products

 Administrative staff

 Dispatcher and Viking Facility Manager when scheduling containers of southbound waste



Duties and responsibilities are not limited to, but include the following:

 Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse staff, and transporters for in and out bound shipments

of supplies or waste

 Load and unload materials to and from designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or


 Document all material transfers, shipments, and movements on appropriate forms

 Receive incoming supplies/product by matching product and quantity to shipping

documents, and inputting product into the inventory system

 Maintain minimum inventory volumes and conduct month end counts

 Ensure items are stored in an orderly and accessible manner

 Ensures a neat/clean work environment by cleaning work areas and discarding materials in

the proper manner

 Organize and manage check-in and check-out procedure for supplies and equipment

 Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on small equipment such as

pressure washers, compressors, etc.

 Expediting parts and supplies when required

 Prepare supplies for upcoming jobs within the required timeframes

 Assist in local drum pick ups and on site industrial tank cleaning projects as required


 High school diploma or GED

 40 hour HAZ WOPER with current 8 hour refresher

 Confined space entry/rescue certification preferred


 1+ years of progressive warehouse/materials management experience such as inventory

and shipping/receiving

 1 – 2 years experience light equipment repair and maintenance preferred

 Knowledge of the waste disposal industry desirable, but will train the right candidate

 General knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements and DOT HAZMAT

regulations preferred

 1+ years experience operating a forklift in a warehouse environment

 Acceptable driving record history with no convictions or moving violations with in the past

three years

 Ability to work varied work schedules, overtime, weekends and travel when required


 Operate standard office equipment such as a computer, printer, and fax machine

 Type 20 to 30 words per minute and demonstrate intermediate skills in Microsoft Office

2007 programs such as Word, Excel, out Outlook

 Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, reasoning, and problem solving skills in

performing work activities

 Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written

 Ability to operate and troubleshoot problems with equipment

 Perform simple calculations including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication

 Demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management

and co-workers.

 Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional
