The WIC Nutritionist collaborates with the WIC Nutritionist Coordinator by assisting in all programmatic activities and functions of the WIC program and team. The WIC Nutritionist assists the WIC Coordinator when providing clinical supervision and guidance to the WIC team, monitors quality of the program and works collaboratively with other key members of management to implement program requirements. The WIC Nutritionist serves as a member of a multidisciplinary primary care team for the Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC). Conducts assessments, screenings, develops and writes nutritional plans for high risk clients. The WIC Nutritionist is responsible for WIC participants' certifications and re-certifications, develops the monthly nutritional session's calendar and conducts individual or group nutritional educational sessions. The WIC Nutritionist must follow the Department of Human Services Maternal and Child code requirements, United States Department of Agriculture, Family Case Management and WIC annual plan, etc. The WIC Nutritionist is a mandated reporter to the Department of Children and Family Services.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition required,Master's Degree (MPH or MS) preferred. Minimum two years experience working in a WIC clinic setting preferred. Posses a current registration with the commission on Dietetic registration from the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (RD) or State of Illinois Licensing Dietitian Nutritionist. Three years experience working with the target population (pregnant women, infants and children). Computer skills and time management skills required. Bilingual (Spanish and English) and bi-cultural competency required. Computer skills required. Candidate must possess an Illinois driver's license, and automobile with valid automobile insurance.
