Assigns, coordinates and evaluates the work of personnel responsible for implementing policies and procedures of employment service or unemployment insurance programs and other workforce programs. Interprets and enforces departmental rules, regulations and policies to program staff and ensure compliance. Determines and coordinates operational procedures. Keeps employees advised of changes in laws and regulations.
Reviews, monitors and assesses employment service programs. Ensures equitable workload assignments. Travels to one or more counties when necessary. Resolves complaints from customers, community and staff.
Reviews and/or prepares reports for evaluation and possible corrective action. Represents the agency in public forums. Enforces personnel rules and regulations and recommends personnel actions when appropriate. Interprets and applies laws relating to employment service programs and/or unemployment insurance matters.
Responds to inquiries from claimants, employers, attorneys and other interested parties. Maintains current knowledge of laws, regulations court decisions and policies relating to employment services and unemployment insurance and related programs. Develops and recommends policy and procedural changes. Represents Department in meetings as requested.
Provides administrative operational program support on a daily basis. Evaluates the performance of employees. Assists and aids team members in meeting quality assurance initiatives. Group : EMPLOYMENT SERVICES Characteristics of the Class : Supervises and coordinates the operations of employment service and/or unemployment insurance programs for a local full-service office/branch or section. Provides input and/or implements corrective action plans and operating plans of service. Interprets laws and regulations governing the administration of the state’s employment service and unemployment insurance programs; and performs other duties as required. Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements : Work is typically performed in an office setting.
