The College of Arts & Sciences Writing Program at Boston University expects to appoint at least two full-time Lecturers in Writing to begin in the fall of 2013. Responsibilities include teaching three theme-based first-year writing seminars (or equivalent) per semester and participating in program service and professional-development activities. The initial term of appointment is one year, with the possibility of renewal for additional one-year or multi-year terms.
The Writing Program is an independent instructional unit with over forty full-time Lecturers. The program’s primary responsibility is to offer the two-semester sequence of theme-based writing seminars that is the standard way for BU undergraduates to satisfy their writing requirements. We welcome applicants from all disciplines, including disciplines in the social and natural sciences. We have a special interest in applicants with training or experience in working with multilingual writers. Ph.D. or other terminal degree preferred; other graduate degrees considered.
