Network Engineer

to join our group to plan, design, create, deploy, implement, and maintain our Cisco networks across the entire system. Our Network Engineer will be responsible for the implementation of enterprise network systems that may include high-availability, redundancy, and supporting the organization disaster recovery and business continuity requirements. They provide technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the network infrastructure. This individual works closely with the Network Architect and mentors Network Analysts to ensure that network hardware, operating systems, monitoring systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational requirements.

This is not an entry level position, we seek a professional Networking Engineer, who has worked in a large enterprise organization, to join our strong team of engineers who will drive forward infrastructure initiatives over the next several years. We prefer a candidate at the CCIE and CCNP level for this important role.

Qualifications

At minimum, an Associates degree in related field, however Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred

Minimum 3-5 years of extensive hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, frame relay, TCP/IP, ATM, T1, 802.11x, etc.

Minimum 3 years of troubleshooting and analysis skills in a VoIP enabled LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi (or mixed network) environment

The following networking certifications preferred: CCNP, CCIE, CCDE, and CCNA/CCNP-Wireless,

Full technical knowledge of installing and configuring network hardware including switches, routers, concentrators, etc.

Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools

Full technical knowledge of Cisco network hardware and IOS.

Experience in designing, setting up, and monitoring Cisco QoS for VoIP

Hardware, software, and network connection troubleshooting experience

Thorough understanding of cable infrastructure best practices.

Knowledge of conferencing technologies (Video, voice and web).

Advanced understanding of network routing including EIGRP and BGP

Experience in a bridged Nortel PBX environment preferred
