Plan, organize, direct and provide leadership necessary for achieving plant and corporate goals in the area of Safety, Quality, Employee Relations, Performance, and Cost.
Responsible for the successful attainment of warehouse and cooler objectives, implementation of policies, and most effective utilization of available resources and facilities.
Responsible for the enforcement of GMP’s in their business unit. Enforce adherence to manufacturing instructions, quality standards, and GMP’s.
Ensure compliance with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing, safety, and working conditions.
Responsible for training and development of direct reports.
Ensures effective communication betweens shifts and other departments by ensuring established communication methods regarding company performance and safety.
Plans, schedules, and directs the operation of equipment and facilities to insure safe and cost efficient operations.
Manage annual budget in such a manner as to achieve the targeted objectives.
Assist in designing, improving, and installing equipment and systems to improve plant efficiency and meet plant needs.
Work with Engineering and Maintenance groups in maximizing output, improving equipment availability, and reducing waste.
Supervises activities of a team of direct reports
Establish and maintain a positive work environment including personnel policy development, training safety and housekeeping
Stay abreast of new technologies associated with the industry, through trade magazines, training classes and technical manuals.
Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Education and Experience…
7+ years experience in a high volume manufacturing environment with minimum 3 years.
Operations management responsibility in a 7X24 operation.
Budgeting and planning experience required.
Must have managed other operational functions such as projects, processing, and packaging.
In depth knowledge of PMO and other related regulatory guidelines as well as interaction with federal and state government employees.
Experience in building functional teams
Experience with filling, and packaging
Standing: Long periods (a minimum of 6 hours)
Sitting: Occasionally for Long periods
Walking: Occasionally for short periods
50-60 Hour Work Week
