Statement of the Job:
Primary responsibility is to receive, store, order and issue equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise and tools.
The Inventory Specialist reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Compile stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse and storage yard.
Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications. Estimates and maintains adequate stock as business needs and demands require.
Appropriate storage of items with identifying information (such as style, size or type of material).
Process orders and issues supplies from stock. Requisition articles to fill incoming orders.
Cut stock to size to fill orders. Purchase and retrieve supplies/materials from local vendors.
Prepare periodic, special and perpetual inventory of stock.
Compile and provide reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments, inventory counts, stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes and refusal of shipments.
Mark identifying codes, figures and letters on articles.
Ensure stock area cleanliness and organizations.
Distribute stock to articles carried in stock.
Promote and practice Incident-Injury Free (IIF) work environment.
Promote and practice sustainability.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience:
Minimum 1 year of successful warehouse/stocking/inventory experience. Background in Government and contractor warehouse facility preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with other and promote team-work environment
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Personal vehicle required.
Working knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, climb, reach, stand, walk, and use hands for repetitive pushing, pulling and single grasp motions.
Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds and move objects in excess of 100 pounds.
Must have the abilities to load and unload trucks safely, climb and carry ladders, and travel by personal or company automobile to work location or to other designations as required.
Must be able to work alone or with minimal supervision.
Must be able t deal with others in a diplomatic and positive manner.
Must be certified in forklift operation.
