Job summary

  • Leads and coordinates activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stock, as well as delivery of goods when applicable. This person will also participate in work performed as listed above.
  • Direct and oversee the daily activities for a same day ship distribution warehouse
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing, in a timely manner, implementing programs that ensure the needs of all functions are met (training, safety, security and housekeeping).
  • Monitor warehouse metrics and Key Process indicators.
  • Use root cause analysis tools to identify areas of improvement.
  • Identify, through a proactive approach, potential cost-saving and efficiency gain opportunities in to improve overall site operating metrics.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a high level of employee morale through coaching and development.
  • Conducts themselves and all activities and accountability in a manner that is consistent with respect for people values

Environment

  • Long and varied hours required occasionally
  • Ability to work mandatory physical inventory
  • Ability to work in extreme hot or cold environment
  • Ability to work in dusty conditions

Summary of essential job functions

  • Strong Communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units to measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and OSHA safety standards.
  • Verify and package product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
  • Stage product for loading.
  • Unload materials from truck
  • Move materials to warehouse for storage.
  • Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is sent out. No damaged material is accepted in.
  • Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT). Stand up, reach truck, order picker and sit down propane fork lift
  • Complete daily logs for PIT
  • Clean and maintain work areas
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements

  • College degree with 2 years or more related experience and/or training.
  • Prior experience with 5S or Lean REQUIRED
  • Prior P&L experience highly desired
  • Prior safety experience highly desired
  • Prior inventory control/mangement highly desired
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • PIT proficiency, reach truck, order picker, “sit down” propane. Current certification a plus.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and handling small parts.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Direct and oversee the daily activities for a same day ship distribution warehouse
  • Prior root cause analysis
