The Production Supervisor is responsible for the following in support of and/or in the absence of the Production Manager. He is accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of the facility and the equipment that is consistent with the values and mission of Saddle Creek Corporation. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the cost side of the P&L, planning, proper utilization of space, equipment, and manpower, and extra labor billing. He has significant customer contact and has direct customer service responsibility. He acts as a direct delegate of the Production Manager; responsible for ensuring that account standards are met for each customer and providing superior customer service and quality.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Production or a similar field of study is preferred.
3-5 Years manufacturing or contract packaging management experience is required.
Experience with GMP, AIB and lean manufacturing practices strongly desired.
Experience should include the utilization of the most up-to-date warehousing and inventory management methods and processes.
Preference will be given to individuals who are skilled in the use of Red Prairie.
Previous experience must have demonstrated a strong understanding of profit and loss, knowledge of and ability to use WMS systems, RF Technology and a high degree of proficiency in using Microsoft Office.
Must have demonstrated the ability to multi-task and possess a high degree of organizational, analytical, decision making, problem solving, coaching and mentoring, communications, customer service and interpersonal skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (JOB FUNCTION):

Ensures that company values are observed throughout the operation.
Oversees all daily contract manufacturing operations to include production scheduling, procurement activities and staffing (planning for both long and short-range labor needs).
In compliance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, interviews and hires qualified warehouse associates. Effectively manage their performance and accountability through the assignment of tasks, training, counseling, and performance evaluations. This includes addressing complaints, problem resolution and administering appropriate corrective actions, promotions, wage increases and terminations.
Ensures all customer quality assurance and other order requirements are met. This requires direct line and process supervision of manual kitting and assembly of products.
Oversees distribution of finished goods in both full pallet and pick/small parcel fulfillment.
Track, analyze, trend and improve operations based on business changes and analytical data.
Audit operations to ensure service standards are being met and maintained.
Ensure current and accurate inventory control for each account. Develop methods to minimize loss and provide accurate inventory tracing.
Collaborate with Information Systems on developing and evaluating programs involving inventory control and tracking.
Control and direct all transportation into and out of the warehouse to meet company standards of customer service, cost, and security.
Prepare budgets and participate in revenue projections and account analysis with the Production and General Managers.
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding warehouse operations.
Communicate effectively with both line associates, other members of the management team and the customers on a daily basis.
Remain customer focused at all times, maintaining a professional and courteous relationship with all customers; providing them superior customer service.
Develop and direct programs to ensure efficient and cost effective operation and utilization of the facility.
Plan and schedule all distribution services including receiving, shipping, handling damaged/returned goods, and reports to ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient manner.
Follow established organizational policies and procedures and develop and implement new programs to ensure the safety of all associates, equipment and property. Provide safety instruction to associates as needed (formal/informal).Report work related injuries to HR in a timely manner and assure compliance with OSHA and MSDS regulations.
Direct the general housekeeping of the warehouse. Create and manage programs to keep tools and equipment in designated areas. Ensure warehouse and surrounding areas outside the warehouse are kept clean and remain in compliance with all local, state, federal or trade association requirements.
