Job Descriptions:
Americold is the largest provider of temperature controlled distribution services in the US, is seeking a Warehouse Laborer to join the team at our Garden City, KS facility.


Under general supervision, the Warehouse Worker will perform various tasks in and around warehouse, primmarily lifting and moving product. The Warehouse Worker will ensure safe and accurate handling of food products.


Load and unload product.

Move product to storage areas with proper equipment.

Efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate areas.

Operate material handling equipment and or machinery safely and efficiently.

Pick orders for shipment and assemble various types of merchandise to be shipped.

Check or count product.

Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.

Conduct operations in a manner, which promotes safety.

May Participate in physical inventories, as needed.

May perform sorting, wrapping, packing, repacking, or other processing of product (see details under physical requirements and working conditions).

Operate equipment safely and efficiently.

Report all safety malfunctions on equipment.

Comply with OSHA standards.

Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.

Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment.

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience:
Requires ability to work under general instructions and independently

Must be able to work varied schedule including weekends and night shifts

A strong commitment to customer service

Requires some math skills

Requires the ability to pay close attention to details, and a personality that is pleasant and cooperative, even when under pressure to meet deadlines, or when working with difficult individuals

Other Skills/Abilities

Must transfer boxes weighing up to 55 lbs. from ground level to 80 inches in height and up 70 lbs. to 50 inches in height rebuilding pallets. Lifting and carrying product a distance of 6 ft. without mechanical assistance.

Expected minimum production levels

Frequently-Product weight from 5lbs. to 40 lbs. (120 to 130 pieces per hour)

Occasionally-Product weight from 41 to 55 lbs. (60 to 70 pieces per hour).

Rarely-Product weight from 56 to 70lbs (40 to 60 pieces per hour).

Able to work in spaces with 55 inches of headroom

May be required to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of -25 degrees Fahrenheit and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation)

Must tolerate heights up to 30 ft. and be able to access elevated products from inside safety cage

May stand to rebuild pallets with products. Requires tolerance of standing posture up to minimum 5 hours, over an 8-hour shift or greater if 10 or 12 hour day.

Occasionally works overtime, evenings, or weekends in order to complete work or to attend meetings

Ability to construct boxes by hand, push boxes through tape machine, and re-pack product into boxes so standard of 30 seconds per re-packed box is maintained on assembly line.


Requires high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
