TEMPORARY CONTRACT POSITION-1-2 MONTHS
•Prepares items for shipment.
•Assembles, address, stamp, and ship merchandise or material.
•Determines shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
•contacts carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
•Packs, seals, labels, and affixes postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter.
•Requisitions and stores shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
•Receives, unpacks, verifies and records incoming merchandise or material.
•Examines contents and compares with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
•Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
•Arranges for the transportation of products.
•Arranges for delivery, assembly, and distribution of supplies and parts in order to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
•Compiles information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, and customer information, so that status reports can be completed.
•Confers with establishment personnel, vendors, and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
•Contacts suppliers to verify shipment details.
•Examines documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
•Requisitions and maintains inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
•Prepares documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
•Delivers or routes materials to departments, using work devices, such as handtrucks, forklifts, or sorting bins.
Job Requirements/ Qualifications
Education and/or experience-High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) preferred, and on year's warehouse experience preferred.
