Manages the day-to-day operations of a DeKalb County water production plant, or a wastewater treatment plant.
Supervises, directs and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining and completing employee performance appraisals.
Directs overall operations of a DeKalb County water production or wastewater treatment plant.
Coordinates the activities of the system with the development of long-term expansion and reconstruction programs.
Develops and implements policies and procedures to comply with the requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Georgia Protection division and other regulatory agencies.
Inspects operations and confers with and advises plant supervisors and plant operators on problems encountered in the operation.
Assists engineering consultants in the development of plans and specifications for expansion and in the development of long-range plans for water purification or wastewater treatment.
Manages and implements decisions, plans, and policies as directed by superiors.
Develops plant operation strategies.
Prepares Branch's annual budget.
Directs the preparation and submission of periodic and special operating and financial reports, as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field; six years of experience in water or wastewater utility operations, or a related field, including four years of supervisory experience. Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license. Must possess a Class I Public Water Supply System Operator or Wastewater Treatment System Operator license.
