Water Resource engineer to conduct engineering design and studies for a wide range of projects and facilities under the applicable regulatory requirements including nuclear power facilities. Emphasis is on organizing and performing hydraulic and hydrologic analyses and calculations, preparing reports and necessary documents to support projects. Responsibilities include analysis, evaluation and design of storm water management and site drainage facilities; surface water hydrology, hydraulics, evaluation of flood protection measures and dam failure analysis; FEMA studies, and hydraulic structures. Responsibilities also include conducting mathematical model studies, employing appropriate one- or multi-dimensional models for the runoff analysis, and open channel flow analysis. The position requires the ability to work independently or as a team and exercise engineering judgment in problem definition, evaluation, selection and application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.

Job Requirements: The position requires knowledge and understanding in rainfall-runoff analysis and modeling, storm water drainage system design and open-channel flow analysis. Applicant should also be familiar with computer applications such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, CivilStorm, SWMM, and other similar applications used in current engineering practice.

A B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on hydrology, hydraulics, and/or fluid mechanics. An M.S. degree with graduate coursework in fluid dynamics, engineering hydrology, and open channel hydraulics preferred.

Other Required Skills: Applicant must demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with teams in preparation of reports, memos, calculations, other documentation, and with presentations. Must be proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Programming experience in Matlab, Fortran, Visual Basic, Java, and/or C++ preferred.
