Summary of position: In this role, you will partner across groups bothin corporate and around the world to put web analytics into action. This is a multi-faceted role that encompassesproviding hands-on web analytics services to select sites on Microsoft.com andmanaging the Digital Marketing Reporting platform, an online centralizedportal for analysis, scorecards and dashboards. You will interface directlywith internal clients to gather business requirements and clarify businessquestions and use data visualization tools to build out analysis dashboards andprovide expert intelligence for your customers. Responsibilities Web Analytics Analysis and Data Visualizations Dive into an ocean of digital data of multiplesources and dimensions to analyze customer behavior Synthesize analysis into logical visualizationsthat convey meaning from dense tables of dataExude confidence and instill trust with businessstakeholders through excellent communication skills at all levels of thebusiness, sharing expertise and opinions about what should be measured, and howthe measurement should be evaluated and be comfortable speaking about webanalytics, digital marketing, and statistical analysis of dataUnderstand data flow from site level eventsthrough to collection and into metric formulasBe able to analyze data quality and correctnessin addition to customer behavior (i.e. do the numbers make sense) and be ableto triangulate on data points to analyze why data anomalies occurUnderstand how to put data and findings into thecontext of the businessCritical thinking skills to evaluate businessrequests and validate the importance relative to the business success metrics Qualifications: A passion for web analytics, digging into allangles of digital marketing business analysis, and improving inefficiencies in processesand tools – being generally curious.Experience in web marketing and/or businessanalysisExperience with advanced web analyticsmethodologies such as experimentation, segmentation, testing, behavioral analysis,surveys and market research Proven experience analyzing, designing, andleveraging multi-dimensional data models, preferably in the web analytics spaceExtremely detail oriented, process oriented, andorganizedExperience working with large volumes of datafrom disparate data sources, and proven track record for spotting actionablepatterns and trendsDeep understanding of database/web/reporting technologiesand ability to translate technology to deliver business-facing solutionsProven experience in building programs where theprograms’ stakeholders are from across organizational disciplines anddepartmentsStrong communication and presentation skills,with the ability to explain complex situations in clear terms to management andlarge groupsAbility and immediate instinct to gain contextand clarify business owner asks for discrete, data points by gaining context ofthe business problem at hand and restating the ask as a business questionbefore providing data and analysis responsesTool experience: Excel (expert) | WebTrends and/or Omniture SiteCatalyst (expert) | SQL(intermediate) or experience with OmnitureInsight (formerly Visual Sciences) Regular Expression syntax expertise a plus
