Piedmont Virginia Community College in Charlottesville seeks a full-time creative professional who has a unique combination of expertise and successes in marketing, writing, Web design and multimedia production. This is not a programming/coding position.
The ideal candidate has recent experience writing, designing and producing effective textual and multimedia content for Web sites, social media and digital publications; is marketing-oriented; self motivated and quality-minded; is a proficient photographer and shoots and edits engaging videos; has recent experience developing and building new content for Web sites using a Drupal content management system; knows how to use Google Analytics and other metrics; trains others in CMS usage; and has worked in a higher education environment.
The position reports to PVCC's Manager of Marketing and Media Relations.
The application package must include:
1.Two videos that you have conceived, written and produced in the last four years.
2.Two Web page design samples from the last four years.
3.Two Web site writing samples from the last four years. (Must be different from the submitted Web page designs.)
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Conceive, write, design and produce timely and relevant marketing-oriented textual and multimedia content (e.g. podcasts, slide shows, videos and other rich media) for use on Web sites and in social media, in digital class schedules and emails.
*Take digital photos and shoot and edit engaging videos.
*Design, write and produce new Web pages as needed using Drupal.
*Systematically train and assist page owners to ensure timely and accurate content.
*Regularly monitor and analyze site usage through Google Analytics and/or other tools.
*Coordinate usability surveys and testing using best practices.
*Bachelor's degree in related field.
*Four years' minimum experience conceiving, writing, designing and producing engaging multimedia content for the Web, social media, etc. and designing Web sites and pages.
*Demonstrated experience writing and designing Web content based upon recent designs and trends.
*Excellent skills in interviewing, writing, editing and proofing.
*Experience using content management systems, preferably Drupal.
*Experience using Google Analytics or other metric tools.
*PC and MAC literate.
*Proficiency with Adobe Suite package, Photoshop, Microsoft Office and social media.
*Proficiency using a digital camera, video camera, video editing software, etc.
*Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven office and shepherd projects successfully from idea through implementation and evaluation with minimal supervision and within deadlines
*Experience with Drupal, HTML, CSS, Java Script, etc.
*Experience using the Associated Press style of writing.
*Experience in a higher education setting.
