We are seeking a Deputy Editor /Web Content Strategy Manager to manage the content initiatives and strategy for the Center’s online presence and communication objectives for mskcc.org and sloankettering.edu. We want a dynamic leader who can manage a team of editors and writers, evolve our process and create better experience for our audiences including patients, caregivers and researchers.

In this role, you will define a strategy for how content will support MSK’s mission and goals. You will develop standards and best practices for creation, management, maintenance and governance of content; establish and maintain a workflow for requesting, creating, publishing and retiring content; enable the exceptional talent of our clinicians and researchers to shine through our digital presentations; create experiences our audiences find satisfying and straightforward; innovate consistently; and communicate simply. You will also edit, and occasionally write, web content that is audience specific; identify and develop areas where there is a need for interactive features.

Qualified individual will be someone who is intent on staying at the forefront of content strategy trends and integrating them into daily practice, has the ability to articulate and rationalize content decisions to persuade our partners across the organization and can use research, data, and metrics to ensure content work and standards support optimal user experiences.

Must have 5+ years experience managing web content strategy and hands on web editorial experience presenting medical and/or scientific information to a general interest audience. Experience in a large, complex environment, such as: university, think tank, consulting firm, medical center, museums is highly preferred. Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced degree in related field such as Public Health, Journalism, Communications, Medical or Science Writing preferred. Supervisory experience highly preferred.
