The Web Designer role is a vital role on the User Experience team at LivingDirect. This person will support and own creative campaigns and marketing-focused project initiatives and create compelling, customer-focused marketing designed to drive traffic and conversion. The primary responsibilities of this position are to design, create and maintain: emails, banner ads, landing pages, and other ecommerce collateral to support products, categories, and marketing and branding initiatives. This position reports to the UX and Creative Manager and will work closely with other key business stakeholders at our fun headquarters located in the Westlake Hills area of Austin, TX.
Website Design: Create new designs for banner ads and develop new layouts for landing and category pages, using HTML & CSS, for all Living Direct ecommerce websites.
Email: Design and build engaging and fresh emails (templates, content library assets, content banners, etc.) for all Living Direct websites and affiliates using Responsys’ email management system.
Display Advertising: Create, modify and maintain online banner advertising (Static, Animated GIFF & Flash) for use on site, display networks and for affiliate program.
Content Creation : Work with merchandisers and business owners to develop new content (imagery, videos or copy) that supports educating our customers and demonstrating our product expertise.
Content Management: Build, modify and maintain creative content across all Living Direct ecommerce websites using the Demandware CMS.
Offline Creative: Update and maintain print and web based collateral for the Living Direct procured product brands, EdgeStar and Koldfront.
Creative Growth : Stay abreast of current and upcoming ecommerce trends and best practices. Be eager to improve, learn and inspire through passion and creativity.
Expertly skilled in CMS, HTML/CSS & full Adobe Suite
Expert knowledge of web/email best practices in design, usability, SEO, performance, and user agent compatibility
Effective communication skills
Motivated self-starter that will take projects from idea to execution
Highly motivated to produce superior creative and develop brand recognition
Ability to use performance metrics to drive improvements in creative, design, and layout
Expert prioritization skills and ability to manage a heavy and ever-changing workload
Modify existing offline creative to adapt to a web format
1+ years’ experience working in Demandware ecommerce platform
1+ years’ experience working with a multi-channel online retailer
Basic understanding of usability testing and test planning
Experience working in offline media marketing: product catalog, direct mail marketing, or other advertising
