The New America Foundation —a forward-looking, tech- and media-savvy think tank based in Washington, DC —is seeking applicants interested in innovating at the intersection of online publishing, social media, and public policy. The ideal Web Producer candidate is someone looking for a fast-paced, collaborative work environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Apply web development and design skills to improve NewAmerica.net, in both function and effectiveness. Work with policy programs throughout the organization to update and improve their online content and presentation, as well as develop project-specific websites.

Maintain Drupal-based content management system with needed upgrades and code maintenance. Collaborate with program and editorial staff on original multimedia, mapping and data visualization projects. Work with outside vendors for server support and maintenance. Maintain and update content on New America ’s internal intranet.

Document web publishing tools and processes. Monitor web analytics. Perform some administrative duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines.

Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Comfort working with PHP a plus. Hands-on admin experience with Drupal content management system. Working knowledge of spreadsheets and basic data manipulation, including data-scraping and conversion.

Knowledge of open source tools such as jQuery, Github, and charting libraries like Flot a big plus. Experience working with mobile web experience design, responsive design, and social media integration. Knowledge of user interface design principles, web design best practices and a graphic creation a plus. Ability to quickly learn and troubleshoot new and existing technologies.
