The Web Social Media Coordinator will help moderate and inspire promotional communications via ministry specific Internet-based applications to encourage the exchange of user-generated content. This position will serve as a conduit between the ministry and website users to report events via social media channels across all brands.
This position will also manage the social media elements to foster interaction, education, engagement and discussion regarding the ministry events and activities through the use of online communities. The Social Media Coordinator will manage, update and enhance through creative efforts our social media efforts; Facebook, Twitter, and other blogs and social media channels.
Scope
The successful candidate will be a top-notch creative and technical thinker, able to conceive and create great content (informative, entertaining and inspirational) for audiences interested in engaging ministry resources. The individual will forge strong relationships with internal stakeholders and work closely within the other departments and divisions. This position requires a highly creative online communications professional with a proven skill-set in multimedia web technologies including technical knowledge and error-proof content.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee all ministry social media portals and is responsible to make them informative, relevant, and current for users, partners and staff, to include updates on events, new items, marketing efforts, media, innovation, market activity congruent with ministry philosophies.
Thorough knowledge of social media applications.
Responsible for the coordination of development, advancements, technology upgrades, creativity to social media resources.
Creatively and proactively assist the website users in their requests for information.
Identify key opportunities to reach out to online constituents and integrate online activities with social media, organizational initiatives, and print publications.
Serve as the initial point of contact for inbound requests on online ministry digital properties (ie: web sites, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
Identify, analyze issues, patterns and trends in user requests.
Provide tracking and metrics to communicate community activity.
Disseminate above information to the appropriate internal departments so that they can respond to requests accordingly.
Monitor and participate in online conversation via posts to build brand visibility and thought leadership.
Monitor blog posts, articles, podcasts, videos and screencasts, (or relevant media) to creatively communicate messaging.
Monitor media channels on a daily basis or as needed for content issues.
Develop and execute initiatives to drive member-generated content, increase community participation and add value to the online community experience.
Identify and drive opportunities for intersecting online community features with potential partners.
Coordinate the social media outlets and all social media efforts internally and externally.
Attend conferences and events to update any applicable social media efforts.
Keep current with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs and events.
Assist in development and management of social media marketing plan.
Help drive social media campaigns and efforts to increase engagement with consumers and grow online relationships and traffic.
Job Requirements
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related field.
Experience :
2-4 Years experience in social media and associated technologies.
2-4 Years experience managing content and production for high traffic websites.
1-2 Years preferred experience working with non-profit organizations.
Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of HTML/CSS and experience with popular CMS including WordPress.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental teams.
Excellent understanding of web usability and related issues.
Solid understanding of web production processes from concept to launch.

This position reports to Director.
Schedule
Normal workday is 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday; additional hours may be required to meet deadlines in the dynamic environment of a 24/7 broadcast operation. This description may expand to include other duties as required.
