The WebSphere Commerce Support organization (part of SWG, Industry Solutions) is looking for two enthusiastic and career-oriented technical support professionals to join the support teams in either Austin, Texas, or Raleigh, North Carolina.

The ideal candidate will bring passion, initiative, excellent communication skills, and a “take charge” attitude resolving deep technical issues with WebSphere Commerce including architecture, performance, security, customization and deployment. Candidates need to understand WebSphere technologies and Java, broadly apply them to current and future IBM Support needs, and be able to perform during business critical situations.

Leadership and the ability to effectively build strong peer and client relationships are important to success in this role. The majority of work will be handled from the office, but on some occasions, a technical support professional may have the opportunity to travel to a customer site to provide on-site assistance.

The candidates will be working in a global team with well-known, high-profile customers in the retail industry across the continent and around the globe, and contributes to department attainment of organizational objectives and highest customer satisfaction.

WebSphere Commerce plays a significant role in IBM’s Smarter Commerce strategy and is the largest J2EE application on WebSphere Application Server that IBM develops.

Required
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic knowledge in Database administration skills (DB2 and/or Oracle)
  • Basic knowledge in AIX, Linux, and/or Solaris system administration skills (or iSeries)
  • At least 6 months experience in Experience in Java Development (J2EE) and J2EE servers, such as WebSphere Application Server
  • Basic knowledge in Networking and TCP/IP
  • Basic knowledge in Basic understanding of electronic commerce
  • Readiness to travel 10% travel annually
  • English: Fluent
