Blue Nile is a successful and growing company, started in 1999 and now the largest online retailer of certified diamonds, engagement rings and fine jewelry. Our corporate offices are located in Seattle’s vibrant Pioneer Square district, home to the latest wave of internet startups and packed with restaurants and entertainment including CenturyLink and Safeco fields. Communicate with multiple business departments within Blue Nile to clarify and define their requests for new features or functionality within our site.
Understand functional requirements and put together accurate time estimates.
Use your knowledge of design patterns and frameworks to design the solutions necessary to implement the requested changes.
Work with other developers on large projects making substantial changes to our site.
Working alongside our creative team, design and implement attractive and rich UI features.
Independently handle ad-hoc requests to make complex changes to our site layout, features, and content.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Software development experience; 3+ years working with an object-oriented programming language - Java is preferred.
Strong communication skills; you will be working with a variety of business leaders throughout the company.
Experience developing and maintaining public database-driven websites.
Experience with cross-browser compatibility issues
