The administrator would be supporting customer facing applications with approximately 50+ production servers. Also responsible for supporting 50+ development servers. The group is currently composed of 16 support analyst. The candidate needs to have a pretty strong personality as they will be involved in regularly schedule meetings where management teams will be requesting status's on outages etc. This position could also go contract to pem.
Strong WebSphere Administration (specifically Websphere Application Server) hands on experience in large Enterprise computing environment under AIX, Unix, Clustered environment.
Working closely with manager base on WAS specifications, analyzes, evaluates, tests, debugs, documents, and implements complex WAS pre-production and production environment.
- Under general direction, devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems.
Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of WAS Administration activities
- Monitor production application and system execution for expected performance
- Modifies, installs, and prepares technical documentation for WAS
- May customize purchased applications, and assists in maintaining program and technical manuals
Proficiency using Shell Scripting in a UNIX/AIX environment
Strong analytical & troubleshooting skills on production and pre-production WebSphere Environment
The candidate should project a sense of confidence (not arrogance) about the skill set they will bring to aid the group and the company. Any experience with Websphere migration is a plus. Experience with Websphere Application Server 8.X a plus.
