Part-Time Position - 30 Hours per Week

Work Schedule - Friday 10 AM to 8 PM, Saturday & Sunday 8 AM to 6 PM
Wage - $16.70
The purpose of this position is to coordinate loading of finished goods for our internal and external customers; provide pick documents and directions on customer requirements to the lift operators; and provide proper load documentation. In addition, in the absence of the Warehouse Manager the incumbent will act as site leader for all assigned sites. In this role the Dispatcher will be responsible for the safe efficient operations for assigned sites; and will assure that the assigned work is completed.
Responsible for the on-time loading so that loads can make it to the customer at the assigned appointment time.
Provide support to the site manager in investigating and reporting safety incidents.
Coordinate yard activities including spotter driver direction; trailer inventory; and work flow.
Provide work direction to warehouse loaders.
Communicate and resolve shipping issues with dispatch team.
Assist loading crews – special loading instructions, inventory/load discrepancies.
Adjust picks based on changes in information.
Print bill of ladings and review for accuracy.
Communicate with and manage inbound carriers and CPU drivers.
Handle less than truckload orders. (LTL)
Assist Inventory Coordinator with sales samples picks, aged product sample and noncompliance returns to production facilities.
Provide updated copies of the loading schedule, trailer list, and short product report to the distribution center scheduler and planner.
Provide back up to inventory clerk, supervisor and planner positions during absences
Provide back up to shift supervisor.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work with customer service, traffic, production scheduling, and production to resolve shipment issues.
Dispatcher will assist warehouse manager in conducting employee performance reviews and any team member performance concerns.
Run weekly cycle counting reports
Operate lift truck as needed.
Education : Post high school training in warehouse /transportation or supply chain functions. Integrated planning systems training like WMS/YMS/TMS is required. Continuing training in Microsoft desktop applications/leadership and any offsite training as determined by the warehouse manager is required.
Experience : Shipping/receiving experience (preferably at Malt-O-Meal); Minimum of six months experience as a loader and/or shipping computer operator (preferably at Malt-O-Meal); experience working in a food production environment; data entry experience; math and problem solving skills and supervisory experience in a warehousing environment.
Skills : Knowledge of physical distribution processes and warehouse management systems; good communication skills; ability to develop, document, and maintain procedures. Demonstrate good business judgment; understanding of economic principles affecting decisions related to warehousing and transportation. Good understanding of material handling, project management, and initiative and follow up. Skills in prioritizing workloads, and stress management. Competence in PC applications including WMS, YMS, Lotus Notes, Xcel, Power Point, Cosmos, Visio, Microsoft Word, other application as assigned and the ability to use technology as a decision support tool. Ability to coordinate and execute activities in a team environment. Must be able to multi task multiple work functions at once.
Internal – Primary contact with Logistics Planning, Planner Warehouse Transportation, Customer Service, Production, Spotter Drivers, DC Loaders and Warehouse Managers. Provide information and shipping demands and coordinating the daily loading schedule while working with product shortages and product movements between DC sites.
External as Assigned - Contact with 3 rd Party contract carriers and communicate transportation requirements; coordinate loads and timing to meet shipping schedules and resolve problems in daily operations. Contact with professional peers to stay current on warehousing technologies and supply chain trends.
1. Ability to produce actionable plans by identifying and negotiating points of difference between many variables at the appropriate level of detail
2. Ability to understand the flow of information in the planning systems and take corrective action to ensure there is no disruption in the supply chain process
3. Ability to plan and implement changes to simplify/improve, reduce cost and increase accuracy in assigned areas
4. Ability to work with Customer Service and Master Planners to resolve product shortage problems and find solutions.
Work Structure: Reports to and takes work direction from the Manager - Warehouse. Also takes work direction from Distribution Planner, Warehouse Transportation. Incumbent must determine work priorities and methods to achieve them.
Direct Responsibilities: Responsible for coordinating daily shipping operation for NLFD DC sites. Operates within Company guidelines/policies, government regulations and the law. Must be somewhat flexible in daily work schedule to accommodate meetings that may occur outside of normal hours.
Shared Responsibilities : Responsible for planning and scheduling transportation requirements to generate the highest delivered margin possible. Responsible on time delivery to Customers.
