Summary:
Our customer, a manufacturer located in a nothern suburb of Milwaukee, is currently searching for a Welding Engineer.

Responsibilities: Weld Process Functions:
Develops new and maintains existing welding methods for manual and robotic applications. This includes writing PDR’s and processing ECNs.
Creates new and maintains existing process documentation, set-up sheets, routings , OMS documentation, tooling databases and tooling design work requests.
Robot Programming:
Develops and programs product weld programs and process flow for prototype and production parts
Core Team Functions:
Attends new product and cost reduction teams, serving as a core or pool team member.
Attends other various steering committees as an internal consultant
Production Support:
Troubleshoots daily problems, safety, quality and productivity issues.
Determines the root cause(s) and takes corrective actions
Training:
Trains operators on new and revised processes and equipment.
Provides cost estimates for labor & tooling for new or redesigned products
Work Standards:
Establishes and maintains production output standards.
Provides cost estimates for labor & tooling for new or redesigned products.
Qualifications:
An Associates Degree with a welding engineering and welding manufacturing technology focus. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is required.
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the operation and programming of FANUC welding robotics systems.
Experience in welding engineering and welding manufacturing technology.
Working knowledge of materials and welding process applications and experience with tooling methods, tolerancing and quality control.
Proven track record of developing and implementing process improvements.
Strong problem solving skills.
Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
