I am currently working on a mandate for a firm in Chicago lloking to take on a well versed systems architect/engineer
They are a successful hedge fund specializing in systematic futures and FX strategies with a strong track record spanning over 15 years. They are currently looking to build their internal proprietary trading group to specialize in high frequency, and ultimately ultra-high-frequency trading strategies, across multiple asset classes.
As such , as part of this initiative they are looking to take on a senior individual who can play an integral part in the building and design of their internal infrastructure.
The individual coming on board will play a leading role in building the low latency trading and quantitative research operations. In this role the individual will be responsible for research projects, testing as well as proposing and evaluating solutions for new complex systems design where little precedent exists.
The person coming on board will be in a position which will require them to play a hands on role in all areas and life cycle of the systems being built and designed. As such experience in both Windows and Linux environments is necessary. As well as this they will be responsible for communication and working with traders, application developers, database administrators etc and will therefore need to have had a broad experience in Windows and Linux engineering and architecture.
The person who comes on board will be joining as the group gets up and running, and as such there is a lot of room for growth, as well being in a position to play a key part in the direction in which the group grows and evolves. Therefore, this position does require someone who is self-directed and would also be happy to manage and motivate other people as the group grows. The role is well remunerated with a competitive base + bonus structure as well as full benefits.
