- Wellness Dietitian - DTC04
Promotes, supports and engages MCH employees in developing healthy lifestyles. Provide critical focus on health education, wellness program coordination, worksite health promotion and health marketing activities. Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement nutrition interventions, monitoring and evaluation of interventions. . Counsels individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition interventions to improve their quality of life. Coordinate recipe development and standardization and develop new menus for independent employees and wellness programs.
*** Part time position - 20 hrs. per week. Requires flexable work schedule; some weekends and travel to MCH Outpatient Center locations***
*B.S./B.A. leading to R.D. (Registered Dietitian) status
*R.D. or R.D.E. with ability to sit for exam within 6 months of hire date. L.D/N (Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist) or L.D/N approved application from the Department of Professional Regulation of Florida within 6 months of hire date with R.D. status or 9 months of hire date with R.D.E. status.
*Experience in educating on weight management, chronic disease prevention and physical fitness and wellness required
*Comprehensive understanding of current health and wellness standards and principles.
*Extensive knowledge of chronic disease
*Able to work during peak hours which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends
*Strong comprehension of cooking methods and ability to provide healthy recipe modifications required
*Strong Verbal and written communication skills, which include individual consultations and group education presentations/demonstrations
