About this Opportunity: The Wind Turbine Application Engineer will professionally represent AMSOIL in all facets related to the wind turbine market both internally, and externally, providing technical service and support, calling on and managing prospects, customers and other wind turbine professionals.

Requirements/Expectations: Responsibilities: Wind Turbine OEM and Gearbox approvals:

Work directly with wind turbine Original Equipment Manufacturers to gain AMSOIL approvals and support AMSOIL wind turbine products. Support and strengthen the AMSOIL strategy for Original Equipment Manufacturers and Gearbox manufacturer’s requests for field validation. Provide oil change instructions to site managers and oil change companies, and take oil samples as well as evaluate complex oil analysis data results.

Technical Sales:

Call on and make formal presentations to wind farm owners, with an objective of selling AMSOIL wind turbine lubricants. Provide customers with technical support on all issues, basic to complex, pertaining to the wind turbine market, AMSOIL products, competitive products and oil analysis data results.

Wind Turbine Tribology, Technical Support, New Product Recommendations:

Know all aspects of wind power componentry/operation and lubrication products to provide a high level of technical expertise, support, advice and decision making within AMSOIL and directly to prospects and/ or customers, verbally, in writing, and via formal Power Point presentations. Must understand all associated ASTM test methods as they apply to AMSOIL wind turbine products, as well as industry specific methods. Access market requirements and make new product recommendations, and work internally with appropriate departments on new product launches.

Requirements include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Superior mechanical knowledge for industrial and wind turbine applications
  • Failure analysis familiarity
  • Strong communication/ decision making skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Willingness and ability to climb wind turbines
  • Travel up to 50%, including international travel
  • No limitation on ability to travel (i.e. no DUI convictions)
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Previous wind experience
  • Member of Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers
