About this Opportunity: The Wind Turbine Business Development Specialist will work in our Wind Turbine Business Group and professionally represent AMSOIL in all facets related to the wind turbine market internally, and externally, including calling on, selling, providing technical service and supporting and managing prospects and customers.

Requirements/Expectations: Wind Turbine OEM and Gearbox Approvals-

Call on and work directly with wind turbine OEM’s and gearbox manufacturers to gain AMSOIL approvals and support AMSOIL wind turbine products. Support and strengthen the AMSOIL strategy for OEM and Gearbox manufactures requests for field test validation. Work with the AMSOIL Wind Turbine Technical Associates to provide oil change instructions for site managers and oil change companies. Take oil samples and evaluate complex oil analysis data results, and provide professional documentation of field test results to OEM’s and MFG’s to gain gear oil approvals.

Wind Turbine Tribology and Technical Support-

Ability to learn all aspects of wind power componentry/operation and lubrication products to provide a high level of technical expertise, support, advice and decision making within AMSOIL and directly to prospects and/ or customers, verbally, in writing, and via formal Power Point presentations. Able and willing to learn all associated ASTM test methods as they apply to AMSOIL wind turbine products, as well as industry specific methods.

Technical Sales-

Call on and make formal presentations to wind farm owners and operators, with an objective of selling AMSOIL wind turbine lubricants. Discuss and present complex laboratory tests and results associated with wind turbine lubricants. Provide customers with technical support on basic to complex issues pertaining to the wind turbine market, AMSOIL products, competitive products and oil analysis data results.

Market Research and Product Recommendations-

Must be capable and demonstrate proficiency for providing, maintaining, evaluating and reporting on past and current competitive product literature and on competitors themselves. Solve and report on complex wind turbine technical data, and provide accurate information and report on current and future industry trends. Develop recommendations for new products and work with internal departments to bring products to market.

Safety-

Successful candidate must adhere to the AMSOIL Wind Turbine Safety Orientation Program and complete the Wind Turbine Safety Check List form each time they climb a wind turbine. Candidate must also complete and keep up to date on their wind turbine tower safety and rescue training.

Requirements include:
  • Strong mechanical knowledge for industrial applications
  • Wind experience a strong plus
  • 5-10 years of experience with capital goods, project sales and/or business development
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or other relevant field and/or documented, comparable level of expertise
  • Excellent communication/ decision making skills
  • Willingness and ability to climb wind turbines
  • Travel up to 50%, including international travel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to work independently
  • No limitation on ability to travel (i.e. no DUI convictions)
