Ciber is seeking a Window Systems Administrator.
In this role the Window Systems Administrator will report to the Senior Manager for IT Operations. This position is a high-energy position and requires a dedicated individual to ensure that the agency is running efficiently and complying with government regulations. The Window Systems Administrator will serves as a key person for DCS Information Technology (IT) technical support and liaison functions as the transitions to the “Next Generation IT” support model with the consolidation of IT Infrastructure functions (networks, telecommunications, workstation support) at the Enterprise level (Office for Information Resources). As such, this technical liaison position requires a strong technical aptitude and working knowledge of all areas of the DCS IT environment with a wide variety of devices, infrastructures and operating systems.
Serves as a key person for DCS Information Technology (IT) technical support and liaison functions as the transitions to the “Next Generation IT” support model with the consolidation of IT Infrastructure functions (networks, telecommunications, workstation support) at the Enterprise level (Office for Information Resources).
Requires a strong technical aptitude and working knowledge of all areas of the DCS IT environment with a wide variety of devices, infrastructures and operating systems.
This individual should possess a working knowledge of the Windows Server Environment, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, Virtualization using VMWare, SharePoint, System Center Configuration Manager, desktop operating systems and general networking.
Provides assistance to the Deputy Commissioner for Information Technology and Finance, the Director of Information Management, and the Senior Manager for IT Operations in developing policies, procedures, goals and objectives for administering agency IT functions, activities and services of significant scope and impact.
Establishes and maintains a variety of high level personal contacts between the DCS Office of Information Systems and the Finance & Administration’s Office for Information Resources in explaining, interpreting and enforcing Enterprise-wide Information Technology policies and procedures, negotiating solutions to complex problems, explaining DCS’s position on controversial and/or complex issues, and disseminating technical information.
Evaluates information systems operations, activities and functions within area of expertise and makes recommendations for improvements in overall planning, economy, efficiency and quality in these areas.
Prepares and maintains a variety of complex technical and administrative reports such as planning narratives, budgetary and financial documents, needs assessment narratives and other records and reports
