This application administration position must have a diverse background in support of client to server application environments. Must be able to troubleshoot and apply technical analysis skills to resolving problems in a Windows, LINUX and UNIX environment. Must be programmatic and capable of developing or reengineering processes and admin tools in Windows, Powershell, UNIX, Perl, SQLPLUS, VBscript, Visual C++ or related languages. Must have a working knowledge of all the concepts of Application Lifecycle Management. Must be able to Interface directly with customers, both internally and externally, and other peers to provide lifecycle support of applications and contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.

Must be capable of supporting overall platform architectures for approved hardware & software. Can apply extensive technical expertise, and has solid knowledge of other related disciplines to manage application environments to include capacity planning, performance monitoring, incident and problem management, change and configuration management, and service level performance. Must have excellent documentation skills and the ability to capture technical details for familiar and unfamiliar processes. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex tasks and can perform duties without appreciable direction.
• Perform software lifecycle management including packaging of installers using vendor furnished media, custom code, application patching and break/fix
• Applicant will be responsible for packaging software for deployment
• Provide Tier 3 application support and this function includes investigation, diagnosis, resolution, recovery, and documentation
• Duties will also include maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, support of client/server environment needs in a UNIX – Windows homogenized environment
• Must operate as part of a larger Data Center team and therefore must be able to communicate and work well with the other IT organizations and the customers
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Basic Qualifications
6 Years with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters or 4 years of additional experience above the basic 6 years of qualifications including HS diploma in lieu of 4 year college degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating systems as well as client/server environments. Excellent troubleshooting skills are required. These skills should also include Perl, VB Script, WisePackaging, or PowerShell. Preferred Candidate will be familiar with SQL and UNIX Scripting. Preferred Candidate will be familiar with JBOSS and various storage devices such as SAN and NAS and their associated restore methods and tools. Should have a working knowledge of CAD tool design and user skills. Has understanding of classic Systems Administration and distributed computing concepts.
