Wireless Carrier Switch Technician Level 2 - Burbank CA & Surrounding Area

Description:

The Switch Technician II must possess sound technical knowledge and proficiency in Telecom and switching operations including a working knowledge of Digital Cross-Connect System (DCS) and SS7 basics.

Will perform on-call duties, night shift rotations, and support weekend work and special events when situations demand.

Interacts with other individuals in department or work area. Exchanges of information are typically routine in nature and require minimal explanation and interpretation.

Serves as a skilled liaison between the local market and multiple support groups.

Able to work with Telco providers to turn-up and test new and existing circuits and trunk work orders to include OC12, OC3, T3, T1.

Will perform on-call duties, night shift rotations, and support weekend work and special events when situations demand.

Should Be:

Experienced in Carrier adds

Experienced with CDMA, iDEN, Long Distance and international voice and data switching platforms, VMS, SMS, STP/SS7, HLR, DACS, Transport, Routers. AC/DC power plant, Test Equipment for RF and transport (DS0 through OC-192).

Able to apply sound judgment in the resolution of network issues.

Able to provide hands-on support to remote troubleshooting teams while demonstrating sound decision making skills.

Able to understand common network reports and take appropriate action.

Able to understand, utilize, and have the ability to locate information in various data bases.

Must:

Candidate must be able to analyze and resolve common network/equipment issues and respond with appropriate corrective actions.

Able to problem-solve through day-to-day network issues with minimal supervision.

Be knowledgeable on CDMA & iDEN

Have 3 to 4 years of equivalent industry experience.

Able to trouble shoot AC and DC power systems

Have familiarity with field operations specific trouble ticket and network database systems.

Have basic RF, Transmission, and CPE skills with experience equivalent to those of a Tech I.

Have good written/oral communication skills are required.

Have basic proficiency with MS Office suite.

Be able to lift 50lbs

Be able to work outside of normal business hours (ie: shift work).

Have Own Reliable transportation

Be legally entitled to work in USA without sponsorship

Be willing to Undergo a Pre-Employment Background Check and Drug Screen

Preferred:

Basic Microwave principals knowledge

Travel Required!!!

This position will require occasional travel between the different switch facilities as needed.
