PSI seeks qualified candidates for a consultant position with the Women’s Health Project (WHP). The Women’s Health Project is a global program operating in 15 countries and focuses on:
Increasing availability and use of long term reversible family planning methods and services with an emphasis on intrauterine devices (IUDs)in both the private and public sectors;
Increasing availability of post-abortion care services using misoprostol and/or, where permitted by law, increased access to safe abortion services;
Improving quality assurance and quality improvement systems;
Improving demand generation activities among target populations.
The primary responsibilities of the consultant are to assist the Project Deputy Director and Technical Advisors with program support, administrative support and data management and analysis. This position requires a minimum 3 month contract (40 hours per week) and preference will be given to candidates willing to extend up to one year. PSI seeks dedicated candidates who are fast learners that can manage his/her own time, juggle multiple tasks and reporting lines, and are flexible to completing a variety of tasks. The position is based in Washington, DC and will report to the Technical Advisor WHP SRHT.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Write, edit, and proofread WHP reports, newsletters, case studies and other internal and external documentation.
Assist in data management and analysis.
Assist in improving routine data collection and reporting systems (MIS).
Compile indicators for WHP reports and other communication documents.
Respond to internal and external requests for information.
Formatting toolkits, arranging translations of documents, preparation of presentations.
Update, edit, and improve internal knowledge management resources.
Write, format and edit responses to donor requests and requests from PSI senior management.
Assist in logistics for regional and global WHP meetings and conferences, including travel documents.
Conduct literature reviews.
Perform other programmatic and administrative functions and responsibilities as required.
Master’s degree candidate; international work experience preferred.
Excellent writing, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills and attention to detail with a positive, can do attitude
Background in public health and/or interest in reproductive health required. Communications and marketing background a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze data and advanced skills in Excel desired.
Demonstrated ability to perform a variety of tasks on short notice within designated deadlines.
Required computer skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Familiarity with database development a plus.
Native-level English required with ability to work in Spanish or French a plus.
