This position supports our partners and staff in both audit and tax departments. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office software, and a strong background in document formatting, along with a dedication to providing unmatched client service.

Required Skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Document Formatting & Editing

Format and edit Word and Excel document content provided by the engagement teams

Must have excellent grammar, punctuation, editing, proofing and verbal communication skills

Ensure documents are satisfactorily and consistently prepared and participate in a review process to incorporate feedback

Must be thorough and very detail oriented

Must be able to handle constructive feedback; all work is proofed by another member of the team for accuracy

Ability to understand how financial statements are put together in order to proof the addition of numbers in the financial statements

Tax Administration

Prepare completed electronic or paper returns for filing and client delivery

Scan and maintain files

Work with partners and staff to ensure compliance with various deadlines

Correspondence and other administrative assistance for partners and managers

Project Management

Set and manage assigned workflow, establish deadlines and monitor progress

Effectively communicate assigned workflow status to other team members

Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects for multiple people

Ability to meet deadlines efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to take ownership of your part of a project; few projects are completed from beginning to end by the same person

Software Mastery

Proficient in Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to Word, Excel, and Power Point

Knowledge of ProSystem fx Engagement and GoFileRoom helpful, but not necessary

Client Service

Provide unmatched client service to BKD partners and managers

Work well in a team environment, have a good attitude and be respectful of others

Additional responsibilities include:
Back-up receptionist

General administrative office duties (mail, file, copy, meeting set up, etc.)

Occasional errands (post office, etc.)

Internal Accounting

Facilities Support

Flexibility in work hours; occasional unplanned overtime will occur. Chances increase during busy season (February 15 – April 15, September 15, October 15, and November 15, with some Saturdays required during this time)

Other duties as required

Required Experience

3-5 years of related experience

All Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint

Verify numerical accuracy of documents by use of 10-key

Type 50+ wpm
