About the Role: The Front-end WordPress Web Developer is a vital member of the Web Team at OpenDNS and will support the team by assisting in the design, development, and deployment of the various web properties, web projects, as well as updating and maintaining existing sites and functionality.
To fill this role you need to bring technical expertise, an ability to implement business solutions using state-of-the-art technology that meet defined requirements, as well as the ability to expand, explore, and recommend enhancements to the assigned projects and tasks.
Be ready to take ownership of and responsibility for projects and systems they work on, and remain versatile and willing to work on a wide variety of development tasks.
Education & Experience:
BA/BS or relevant work experience
In-depth understanding of HTML and CSS code (HTML5, CSS3, Responsive development)
Extensive experience templating for WordPress, and Susy themes
Able to write cross-browser compatible code
Mobile web development experience
Knowledge of SEO
Familiar with production of HTML email
Good with problem solving and troubleshooting
Able to handle multiple projects
Familiar with Git
Comfortable working in a shell/command line
3+ years Experience with WordPress and/or Drupal theme development
3+ years Experience creating WordPress and/or Drupal plugins
Excellent Object Oriented PHP programming knowledge
Solid understanding on how to use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator)
