Note: This is a part-time position working at least 20 hours per week. As workload fluctuates there may be a need for the incumbent to work full-time. This project position is expected to end December 31, 2013.
WorkSource Kitsap is seeking a part-time WorkSource Specialist 3. This is a fully qualified professional level position. This position will work with unemployment insurance claimants delivering core and intensive services in the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) project, and access to the full array of services available through the WorkSource system. The majority of time is spent assisting long-term claimants in both a group and one-on-one format. This position will be reviewing continued eligibility of claimants and assist in directing them to job finding services as needed.
- Provide staff-assisted customer services; conduct group and individual in-depth interviews, partial and full registrations, and review job readiness, employment barriers and customer needs; administer skill, interest, and aptitude tests using formal tools; identify employment and/or training goals; develop and monitor service plans; develop recommendations for continuous engagement.
- Outline labor market information and opportunities; assist with development of job search plans/Reemployment Service Summary; refer customers to WorkSource job orders and/or other external job openings.
- Monitor return to work and/or customer employment status; monitor referral and placement number ratios; record data into multiple information management systems; produce necessary information and reports.
- Administer the UI Work Test.
- Schedule and conduct Job Search Review interviews; audit customer unemployment claims to ensure claimants meet work search requirements under the Unemployment Insurance laws; develop claimant action plan or work search directives; conduct follow-up to assist UI office and customers; enter information in SKIES and GUIDE.
- Facilitate unemployment insurance reemployment orientations.
- Working-level knowledge of characteristics associated with unemployed, dislocated, and disadvantaged populations.
- Working-level oral communication skills - convey information orally according to the needs of the audience, and receive and understand spoken information.
- Working-level knowledge of group facilitation techniques.
- Awareness-level computer skills - use computer hardware and software to complete assignments.
- Working-level customer service skills – build and maintain customer relations and satisfaction.
- Working-level general knowledge of the workforce one-stop system and partner programs and services.
