Generates original material for exhibitions and other writing projects.
Coordinates review of material by subject-matter experts. The material may require the analysis and selection of facts that are drawn from different sources and are synthesized into a unified presentation (i.e environmental documentation).
Responsible for thorough and careful edits of manuscripts written by subject-matter experts. Consults with author(s) to maximize clarity and manner of presentation and suggests reorganization and revision.
Ensures the logical development of ideas and concepts in terms of interests of the audience for which the text will appear. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
You must possess the Basic Requirements identified below to be considered eligible for this position. Transcripts must be provided for qualifications based on education. Your application or resume must clearly show that you possess the appropriate experience requirements.
There are no Individual Occupational Requirements for this series. For positions for which individual occupational requirements do not specify otherwise, general experience is 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to:
1. Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions;
2. Plan and organize work; and
3. Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) necessary to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Experience of a general clerical nature (typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, or other nonspecialized tasks) is not creditable. Trades or crafts experience appropriate to the position to be filled may be creditable for some positions.
GS-09: Examples of specialized experience are: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-07 grade level that demonstrates the ability to identify, research, develop, write, or edit material for print and/or nonprint media such as newscasts, videos, and/or videoconferences.

You will be evaluated in accordance with the category rating procedure as defined in the USDA Demonstration Project Plan. Applicants who meet the basic minimum qualification requirements established for the position will be placed in the Eligible category. Eligible applicants will be further evaluated against criteria for placement in the Quality category. This evaluation is based on the level of your experience, education, and/or training as determined by your responses to the Occupational Questionnaire.
