This position serves as principle writer and editor for a timber sale planning team. Writes and/or edits narrative portions of resource reports and environmental documents. Coordinates document submissions of ID team members. Provides direction and guidance on writing conventions, format, and content requirements. Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary planning core team. Participates in interdisciplinary team planning meetings; may participate in public involvement sessions; and meets with other internal resource specialists in order to obtain and synthesize planning information. Develops a single cohesive writing style of long manuscripts created by many contributors, and assures that the writing style selected is well-suited to the reading public for which it is intended. Assists with writing a variety of documents related to planned projects.
You must possess the Qualification Requirements identified below to be considered eligible for this position. Transcripts must be provided for qualifications based on education. Your application or resume must clearly show that you possess the appropriate experience requirements.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level; or master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; or an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university by the U.S. Department of Education and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
Specialized Experience is defined as one or more of the following: Assisting in writing or editing pamphlets, brochures or newsletters explaining natural resource projects; or assisting in preparing or editing resource reports or environmental documents. Your experience should reflect researching factual information and verification with specialists.

This evaluation is based on the level of your experience, education, and/or training as determined by your responses to the Occupational Questionnaire.
