Essential Job Functions
Writes and proofreads complex copy for print and electronic publication in magazines, trade journals, newsletters, annual reports, and related publications/communication mediums, as well as internal communication pieces.
Researches complex articles, reports, editorials, reviews, and other material as assigned to obtain information and facts for written articles/releases/brochures, etc.
Analyzes and interprets complex data to determine appropriate syntax, style, and grammatical usage required for documents.
Interviews individuals, attends meetings, and researches more complex printed and online resources to obtain information and data for publication, verify facts, and clarify information.
Writes complex news and public relations releases, special brochures, and similar collateral materials. Writes and prints preliminary copy draft in established format to meet specified deadlines.
Assists in developing ideas about possible story production.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, technical writing or related field preferred
Five or more years of writing experience
Experience working with desktop publishing, word processing, and on-line documentation software
Experience working with industry writing style such as grammar, sentence form, and structure
Must have at least a Bachelor's degree
Strong communication skills
Personal computer and business solutions software skills
Strong proofreading and editing skills
Good interpersonal and interviewing skills to gather information from personnel
Creative thinking and design skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
