SUMMARY OF JOB:|
Is responsible for providing support to ensure a successful broadcast product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Daily implementation of research-based strategies to brand and market news content
Writing, promotional copy editing video and producing News teases, topical promotions, and news opens, as well as other tasks which my be assigned
Work with reporters, photographers, and producers to determine content for daily news promotions.
Edit video and write copy for daily topicals and, news opens, and website
Create graphics for cold opens for newscasts, full-screen graphics, maps, web content, and daily topical promos
Use completive line-ups, audience demographics, lead-in, and research guidelines to ascertain most impactful stories to appeal to given audience
Work with News Director, Promotions Director, General Manager and News Consultants to review and develop promotional spots
Analyze footage for video segments which feature station brand characteristics, archives material for future use., and create spots with these elements

Demonstrate excellent writing skills and use of creative video to effectively market brand.
Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities. Must be flexible to multi-task, shift focus, and re-prioritize as the situation dictates.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate ability to use sound judgment and to make independent decisions.
Demonstrate good use of computer programs; non-linear editing systems (Bitcentral pref.), Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Photo-shop., After-Effects
Education and/or Experience
BA degree and minimum two years related work experience.

1-3 years of experience required
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) required
Ability to read, comprehend and analyze complex instructions, business periodicals, professional journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management and/or our board of directors.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions expressed in written, oral or diagram form.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to remain in a static position for extended periods of time and converse with and communicate with others. The team member is occasionally required to move about, handle and/or position items. The team member must occasionally transport or move up to 15 pounds. The team member must be able to identify objects and be able to communicate in writing.
Typical indoor office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
